Achieve Your Perfect Style with Hairlocs–Highlights, Balayage, Ombre & More

When customers hear "hair extensions," they typically think about adding length, but that's not the only area that can be transformed. For so many people, Hairlocs hair extensions are the piece to their hair journey that's been missing. Our extensions allow customers to customize their hair color without the threat of damaging their natural hair with harsh chemicals. Today we discuss three of the most sought-after hair color treatments that can be easily incorporated using our beautiful hair

Highlights

Highlights (and lowlights) are when you create multidimensional colored hair with streaks of a color that contrast with the base color. The base color is simply the color a client is starting with. Highlights can create a lot of depth to a person's overall cut and style and brighten areas of interest. Our handy color swatch is a great way to start building your clients' color story and finding the specific shades of extensions that would most compliment the look they are going for. This is one of the most widely-known hair color treatments, so it's important to remind customers how easy accomplishing stunning highlights can be with extensions.

Balayage

Bala-what exactly? Balayage is a French word that means "to sweep." In this hair color technique, highlights are hand-painted or "swept" on the surface of random sections of hair to create an extremely natural all-over kind of look. Balayage can be applied as a full balayage throughout your hair to give you a lighter look without needing to maintain inevitable root grow-out as you would for other lightening methods. It can also be done as a partial or mini balayage, such as only around the face or upper area of your hair. Whether color-matching the extensions themselves or creating custom colors by dying the hairlocs hair, the Balayage is a great way to transform someone's hair color completely.

Ombre

Ombre is a dramatic, gradient color effect where hair is split into two contrasting color sections and gradually blended from one hue to the other. Also, with French origins, the word ombre means "to shade." Ombre in the past was accomplished by dying hair, sometimes multiple times to get the different hues blended. Although this approach does work, it's easy for hair to become significantly damaged, which is where Hairlocs comes in. By starting with extensions, you are creating a layer of protection around your natural hair while simultaneously being able to experiment with your color however you see fit.

Reduce (Or Eliminate) Chemical Damage

Gone are the days of bleaching your entire head, leaving you with dry, damaged hair. Extensions remove your natural hair from the equation as much as possible so you can focus on achieving the color and style of your dreams. Hair extensions also allow you to be more selective about which natural hair is being dyed. For example, instead of dying your whole head blonde, you could achieve the color you want by adding extensions for a Balayage and then using bleach to highlight the money pieces around your face. By doing this, you've significantly reduced the chemical use while still getting the desired effect–a win-win!

Find Your Perfect Blend

With so many blends to choose from–Full blonde, rooted, and full blend, to name a few–extensions allow you to utilize multiple blends on one customer to create a dimensional look. Adding hair to your customers will help people achieve fuller hair that is more customized to the customer.
